The Deadwood Sweet Jane Día de los Muertos LE 2024 comes only 5 years after the original release of the Deadwood Sweet Jane cigar. It is named after the Mexican holiday (Day of the Dead), which honors and remembers friends and family who have passed away. These limited-edition cigars come in a 6” x 50 box-pressed Toro size and feature a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and fillers, and a sweetened cap. THE GLOVE:
The fragrance has an earthy note, like damp wood with dried bing cherry, papaya, burlap, tobacco, alfalfa, coca nib, and spice notes of allspice and sassafras root.
The First :
The initial is of coca nib, mint, clove, nettle, sunflower, and the cap has coca nibs, bringing out a creamy and sweet flavor.
Second Third:
The flavors deepen with hints of cream de mint, cinnamon, coconut husk, grande of paradise, vanilla, eucalyptus, Madeline cookie, mesquite, and a spicy note like Paprika.
Final Third:
The final portion of the cigar's flavors includes notes of liquid smoke, oats, golden raisins, amaretto, skyr, pinyon, and tamarind. The coca nibs keep the cigar sweet throughout, and the spice notes dissipateing.
Draw :
The draw was clean and constant though out
Burn :
The burn was a bit dimmed at times, but it kept burning along, with no need to relight.
Packaging :
The box is much like the Sweet Jane, with an orange paint job that brightens the design and the added words dia de los Muertos on the lid and on both sides.
The cigar has two bands. The main one has the same embossed logo as the box and a band at the bottom that says Die de los Muertos.

This cigar is a great choice for someone who wants a sweet treat or something to try as a first cigar.
It should not be cut but punched so as not to lose the cap filling.
