The Glove :
The aroma has notes of basmati rice, dried cranberries, oak, vanillin, and black apricot.
The First :
The initial is plum, chocolate powder, Bali coffee, long pepper, and damp soil undertones.
Second Third:
The flavors deepen with hints of leather, cedar, vanillin, milk powder, spice notes developed more into a black cardamom, dragon’s blood, and Lampong pepper.
Final Third:
The final portion of the flavors of the pepper notes are now more robust than the long pepper, baker’s chocolate, fresh oak, Mexico Chiapas coffee, plum, bing cherry, and a delicate mint finish.
Draw :
The draw was perfect though out with a somewhat resistant draw, roughly in the 2nd third.
Burn :
The burn was a bit wavy around the 2nd third and dimmed, but it kept burning.
Packaging :
A unique aspect of Coffin Nails is the packaging. The cigars come in a 10-count soft-pack flip-top box, making them convenient to carry and store.
The packaging does protect the cigars, but little as the box is made of heavy-duty card stock. However, it does add a touch of elegance and practicality to the idea of an everyday cigar.
Final Thoughts :
89 Points
This cigar is an excellent choice for after-dinner with black coffee or everyday smoke. It’s a little heavy on mouthfeel but very refreshing with a beverage.
