Acid 20 cigars hail from the Drew Estate factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and they were blended to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Acid. It’s hard to believe Acid cigars have been around for twenty years, but the blend debuted back in 1999. Acid 20 is drawn from a dark and oily San Andrés wrapper leaf over an amalgam of Nicaraguan and Indonesian long-filler tobaccos that have been infused with brand’s secret recipe of essential oils, herbs, and botanicals to achieve an exotic, rich, and aromatic flavor profile.

The Draw :

The cold draw was sweet with chicory root, tapioca, brown sugar, leather, black apricot, spice notes of chocolate spearmint, cinnamon, and myrrh.

The sweetness of the chicory was much like chocolate syrup and drowned out most of the flavors. That sweetness does remain on your lips as you light up and for the first few minutes of this cigar.

The First :

The first third has the sweet flavor of chicory and licorice root, with notes of cumin or white pepper developing throughout. There are also notes of Burch wood and red clay in the mix.

The Second :

The second has notes of white pepper, marshmallow, bell pepper, coca powder, Sal de Mer, candied plum, and toasted sesame seed.

The spice note is solid and lingers in the back.

The Third :

As the final third, the profile is slightly like ocean spray and lightly burnt Burch bark with the chicory sweetness remaining.

As the cigar comes to a close, the profile is musty. The sweetness remains with light spice as the white pepper comes back. The strength in this third remained at medium.

Draw :

The draw was clean and constant, though, with no construction issues.

Burn :

The burn was uneven at the first third and dimmed at times, but it kept burning along. I needed to relight a few times until I got to the second and third of the cigar.

Packaging :

The cigar has two bands. The main one has the same logo as the box and is Embossed with the biker in the zero. It is a great metallic silver band that shows the 20 front and center.

The bottom band says Acid in bold letters and twenty below in smaller letters.

Final Thoughts :

I know some people are going to say Acid 20 is good, and yes, I’m going to say I did. It was very pleasurable and enjoyable. I liked the sweetness throughout and the mild Pepper, which was very reminiscent of wanting to have Cacio E Pepe with the creaminess in the spice note together.
